Sunset on Lake Muskoka

sunset on Lake Muskoka

While fishing in Gravenhurst, Ontario I took a break to watch the sun setting behind an island on Lake Muskoka. Being in the right place at the right time to catch a view like this always makes me forget about all the other catches that were and weren’t landed!

My goodness Otter, that is a beautiful scene and a gorgeous sunset, but I wonder if you should be out fishing as the sun is going down. Once that last glimmer of sun has disappeared it is very DARK and you should be home, safe and sound? Did you bring a torch? How did you find your way through the undergrowth? Were you not frightened, what about all those snakes and monsters that come out at night?

You’re right, it can be a bit scary at night around here. I’m not too worried about snakes but there are bears, wolves and angry moose too. I also have to look out for pet cats as some of them are large enough to take me down! On this occasion I had about an hour of twilight to make it home safely. Next time I plan to fish late I’ll pack a light. Thanks for that suggestion!

It’s pretty hard to beat a view like this one Otter. It’s a great shot and thanks for sharing. How was the fishin’? Are you going to try posting any more night pictures? Like the ones you did last summer.

Thanks, at this fishing spot I caught some pike, perch and bass. Yes I will post some more night photos soon. I’ve been waiting for the moonless and clear night skies this month to do some new photos too.
